This is all I can do now at this point.
- camp objectives
- constantly sweep the active scanner
- hide in a corner for the vast majority of the match.
- sprint the entire perimeter of the Manus Peak map just to avoid being spotted (I hate Manus Peak)
I can no longer kill a few mercs at a time even in those confined spaces (bunker rooms, stair wells, etc.). It's just kill one merc every 6-8 minutes and that's only if the enemy likes to keep pushing to the objective I'm camping. And if they come in packs, I'm screwed unless one of them decide to stray off on his own and even then I run the risk of being led into an ambush if I try to chase him.
Well CCP, if this is the way it's gonna be for me, then I have a few things to say.
1. Hurry up and release that damn cloaking equipment you talked about months ago in your dev blogs. Since we're forced to hide so much and most of these maps are just open spaces, Us scouts might as well have a cloak.
2. Give us knifers the ability to sprint with the charge held just like you promised in the feedback list you posted. This is desperately needed now more than ever.
3. I suggest that you change the instant attacks so that using the instant attack won't interrupt the sprint. This is the most annoying part about the knives.
4. In addition to #3, reduce or remove the slight delay between tapping the trigger and seeing the knives slash. |

No. They don't. If you want to beef up the nova knife damage, you'll have to skill up the nova knife proficiency skill book and train up handheld weapon upgrades so you can use the sidearm damage modules. The knives and melee are entirely separate classes.
Wear the Scout M/1-series at least. |

Also, if Nova Knives damage doesn't scale with melee bonus why would a minmatar scout be better than a gallente scout? Finally, I think I'm masochistic, but I kind of want to go nova knives now that everyone hates them (with a militia gallente scout suit). Can't wait to die. ^_^
In close-quarters, I don't notice any difference at all whether I have the aim-assist on or off. Besides, being a knifer means I can only do CQC.
The melee bonus is not the only feature the Scout M suits have. They also have a bonus towards nova knife damage. As of right now, assuming you trained up to Nova Knife Proficiency level 5 and Minmatar Scout Dropsuit to level 5 and fit just the Ishukone Knives, you can still deal enough OHK damage on most assaults and that's before slapping some sidearm damage mods on. The Ishukone knives (once fully trained and fitted to the max) can deal at least 1200 HP damage in one go when fully charged.
As you can see, the Minmatar Scout suit is key to the whole setup. |
